What it does
All of us here at the GTA Realism Team have committed ourselves to providing users with best possible GTA V wanted level experience. Best lore friendly models, incredible variety, reworked AI, enhanced dispatch and unique wanted level spawning extension script will provide you with an unique experience on a scale that has never been seen before in GTA V, all in one easy-to-install package.
How I built it
Using C#, I wrote game-engine level scripts to replace the system created by Rockstar. Using realistic logic, I created a system that challenges the user with various levels of realism based on user preference.
Challenges I ran into
Scripting is not supported by Rockstar, so accessing the API for the game can be a blind shot in the dark. The biggest challenge was finding the right commands and values to create the system our team has envisioned.
Accomplishments that I’m proud of
This is the biggest game modification I’ve ever been a part of and I’m proud of the work we have accomplished. I started out as the sole software developer and was able to train a few of our team members to understand and even program in C# as well.
What I learned
I learned a lot about game coding by being part of this project. The system is nearly identical to coding in Unity so the familiarity was also a basis of further self development.
What’s next for Realism Dispatch Enhanced – GTA V Mod
This is a project with a never ending list of feature requests and we continue to improve and enhance the project. We’re currently on revision 3.1 and we continue to work on if for the foreseeable future.
